A Clean Plane is Aerodynamically More Fuel Efficient

As private and civic aircraft become increasingly more mainstream, there is a growing need for niche detailers with experience detailing airplanes to help keep them clean. The exterior cleanliness of an aircraft affects its aerodynamics, which in turn influences the economics of fuel usage. The cleaner the aircraft, the better it flies using less fuel.

On the other hand, aircraft detailing has it challenges and a detailer must understand the products and formulas that work on an aircraft’s skin, without causing corrosion or damage that affects flight. There is more to detailing an aircraft than washing it and slapping on some wax. In fact, some areas of the aircraft should never be waxed or exposed to a sealant; and some common degreasers will damage the paint and can cause serious damage to any bright work (aluminum), its composite skin, and the frame.

Angel has been selected for the 2017 Air Force One Detailing Team at the Seattle Museum of Flight coming up in late July. It will be his first experience detailing an airplane, but what an experience that will be! Angel will get a hands-on opportunity to cut his teeth on a multi-million-dollar iconic museum treasure!

Angel will be adding aircraft detailing to his portfolio in the next couple of months!
